Star Wars Replica Props
The following replica props were built by
me. None of these were bought or include Icons, Master Replica, or
cast duplicates. All were parts were either the original
pieces used for the real movie props or parts that I fabricated to look
like them.
I realize that these may not be 100%
accurate so please consider 2 things when looking at my props.
1.) Many of them were made
years ago, most before the internet....gasp! I used images
from the limited number of books and pausing the VHS movie.
2.) I sacrificed accuracy for cost in
some cases. Most of these were made for under 50$. |

Boba Fett's ESB EE-3 Blaster
I had made a less then accurate version of the ROTJ
blaster back in 92 before I had good reference shots. I decided I
wanted to make an ESB version and began to collect parts.
This was made from a Crosman 357 pellet gun, a 2 cell heiland flash tube
(10$ - while not the MPP version for the price it was better then a
chrome plumping pipe), some pvc, a tasco scope,
some scrap wood for the stalk, plexiglas, and some greeblies I bought a
long time ago. Total cost under 40$.

Han Solo's DL-44 Blaster
This was made back in 1994. I
found a replica Broom-handled Mauser (the actual base for the original
prop) at an antique mall. The blaster also includes parts from an
old Kenner toy gun, some aluminum tubes & rods, and random hardware.
Total cost = $30.

Luke Skywalker's ANH Lightsaber This was
the first real replica prop I made. A friend told me that the
original was made from an old Graflex 3-cell flash tube. We bought
a photography magazine and called every vendor in it to track down a
Graflex. This one actually has some parts (grips and bubbles) I
bought from various vendors years ago. Total cost = $70.

|
Obi-Wan Kenobi's ANH Lightsaber This one
was made in 1997. I only had 1 reference photo in the Star Wars
Chronicles book. My father was a tool and die maker so we milled
and lathed the entire piece out of plastic and aluminum. I found
the black gear by the pommel years earlier and had held onto it.
Total cost = $20.

|
Darth Vader's Lightsaber Originally made
in 1998 from a Heiland flash tube, purchased grips and machined
miscellaneous pats. Total cost = $40.

|
|
1999. This was another father son project team up.
Machined out of a solid aluminum bar and copper bar. The controls
are also aluminum but the red and green arrows are actually filed down
lite-brites.

Princess Leia's DDC Defender Sporting Blaster
Started in 2001 and finished in 2011. I had the parts
but never really got around to finishing it. It is actually a toy
squirt gun that a filled with plaster for weight, plexiglass, hardware,
pvc, washers, a x-acto knife tip, and a phone cord. Total cost=
$12.

Cloud City Guard's Relby-K23 Blaster
Completed in 2003. This was a another rare favorite of mine.
The original was made from a Spanish spear gun, a Nemrod. I found one on
eBay and the seller has a misidentified it and I got it for $20.
While not the exact Nemrod, it was very close. The other parts on it include some gears from an RC shop, pvc, and
plexiglass. Total cost = $30.

|
Jabba's Palace DL-18 Blaster I finished
this gun in 2011. I have been collecting scrap parts for
this for quite while. The pistol that was used as the base is a
quite expensive and rare air pistol from Europe. This was pieced
together with an old daisy bb gun handle and flea market bb gun.
The extras are made from pvc, couplings, spare aluminum, a pen and other
fodder. Total cost= $30.

|
|
Jabba's Palace Vibro-Ax Completed in
2005. I was a the goodwill looking for parts to use for a film
project and found the old hair dryer that was the base. The
rest of the prop is made from a pvc tube with a dowel rod in it for
support, Plexiglas, plumbing washers, and a toilet bowl float.
Total cost = $15.
